SOCAL ENDURO STAGE RACE 2012
The SoCal Enduro Stage Race is a 1 day event consisting of 3 races on 3 different  courses!
I know that sounds a bit confusing. But it really is pretty simple!
This race is Rain Or Shine

Please note that there will be no preriding the day prior to the Enduro on January 22nd.
The "12 Hours Of Temecula" will be in progress all day! Preriding for the Enduro can be
done on any other day prior to January 21st! The Courses for the Enduro will be Marked
the weekend prior!

Turner Bicycles has partnered with SoCal Endurance on the SoCal Enduro races! It is
great to have Dave Turner and his company on board to help make our events a
success! Turner will provide custom painted 5 Spot frames to a lucky raffle winner at
each of the Enduro races!
For more info on the 5 Spot check out:
www.turnerbikes.com

Here's how it works:
1.  Pre registration is currently open only Active.com. for this first race we are limiting the number of spots to 20 per
category. Online reg will close 2 days prior to race day! We will keep folks informed on the number of slots available as
the event gets closer. Onsite registration and racer check in takes place at 6:30 am - 7:45 am race morning.
There is a mandatory racer meeting at 7:45 at the start finish line!
Keep in mind you must be at the start of the first race by 9am. It takes most about 10-15 minutes to go from
bottom to top, but if you've never ridden it go early! For some on big bikes it takes 20-30 minutes. We will close
portion of the climb after 9am.
So in a phrase " Be there or be square "

(You must pedal to each of the staging areas prior to the start of each race. Any racer late to staging will receive a
negative time penalty to be added to their race time!)

Each category will send 5 racers at a time from the start line. For instance if you have 10 racers in a category, we will
have 2 heats of 5 racers per heat. If there is an odd number of racers in a category the race director will mix the heats
accordingly. The racers will be timed from the top to the bottom of each race course. At the end of the day the total time
from all 3 races will be tallied and the overall victory will go to the racer with the lowest time!

2.  The first race of the day takes place at 9:00 am.
The first race course will be about 8 -10 minutes long and consist mostly of downhill  with a couple of pedaling sections
thrown in for fun! The downhill in the first race will tend to be a bit more technical and fast! It is meant to emphasize trail
biking and downhill skills. But it is not a scary downhill course! This is a Enduro!
At the end of the race results will be tallied and posted.

3. The second race of the day will start at 10:30 pm.
The second race course will about 8 -10 minutes long and consist of mostly downhill with a few pedaling sections thrown
in for more fun! This race will feature less technical sections and a couple of short steep sections at key points. But this
race is not XC and not Short Track! It is an Enduro - where gravity is your friend!
At the end of the race results will be tallied and posted.

3.  The third and final race of the day goes off at 12:00 noon
The third course of the day will be about 10 -15 minutes in duration and consist mostly of downhill with a few pedaling
sections thrown in for the most fun! The third and final race will have a great combination of the previous 2 races. It will
be mostly downhill with a few technical sections, some pedaling sections, and a few short steeps to keep you on you
game! But remember this is not a Downhill course or an XC course it is Enduro! Super FuNNN!
At the end of the third and final race results will be tallied and posted.

4.  Please remember this is not a downhill event. These events take endurance, skills, and anaerobic conditioning.
There are uphills and pedaling sections throughout the day! Strategy and race experience will help you plan your day,
to include race nutrition and time lines. You must be at the start area at the designated time or face a negative time
penalty.
5. Each race will be timed, each racer will be ranked according to the place they came in. All 3 Races for the Day will
combine times for the racers overall  time. Results will be posted as quick as possible in between races. Overall results
will be tallied at the end of the day and the Overall winners will be crowned SoCal Enduro Champions!
